Wow. I kinda feel sorry for this guy's family, cos whenever anyone asks him "What was the happiest moment of your life?" he's never going to answer with "my wedding day" or "when my baby was born." It's always gonna be this.

Everyone at this concert just witnessed YEARS possibly DECADES of preparation for an imaginary moment coming true. I never thought a drum solo would get me emotional, but this guy seeing his chance and grabbing it by the balls got me in the feels.

its not just talent, he is not 5 yo. he must have poured hours practicing and thats whats inspiring.

He took advantage of the moment, and responded PERFECTLY given the situation. Knew the song, sat in the pocket and didn't show off until the very end, followed improv ques, and basically f'n crushed it. I think it's even harder to play a slower song like this and not "over" play it because it's your moment. And then to be complimented by TWO fantastic drummers (Dave and Taylor) - dude just living his best life.

I was at this gig. I remember him getting up there, and the moment he started playing I got goose bumps. He absolutely destroyed it. And when he got emotional at the end, man, even I teared up.

I love the way he immediately meshed with the band and perfectly matched Dave's intensity second by second, and then at the end, the way the band followed him the same way, as if they'd all been playing together for years. That's more than just talent. It's instinct.

Not only is he a phenomenal drummer and musician, but my guy kept tempo with no metronome in his ear and nothing to reference how hard he is hitting the skins, this dude is pure madness and skill, hours and years behind the set and blood sweat and tears. Mad props.

In Dave’s book, he says that when he was a kid, he would fantasize about the drummer breaking his arm or something during a show, and Dave would rescue the band by filling in, getting on stage with rock stars and blowing their minds. And now Dave is making this fantasy real for kids all over the world. Dave Grohl is legitimately the coolest dude who’s ever lived.

You know what really makes him a good drummer? He is actually able to pick up on the dynamics cues!

dude played with someone else set and done everything without ear monitor. don't forgot that he just showed up, means that there was no warm-up. in case you wanna show a talent to somebody, show them this
