MY BIGGEST ADVICE, even if you have the right card to record the highest bit codec, make sure your computer can handle it. I have previously used the highest but codec with proxy files only to find out that my computer cannot process/output the work.

I love my fx30, I have it since June and it works better every time, now, i need some v90 cards to record in higher quality, cf express are way to expensive, atomos ninja is another good option

Folks that have weaker machines for video editing need to watch out for the compressed codecs too. HEVC is great with it’s small file size, but if your computer doesn’t have a dedicated accelerator for it, you’re in for a rough time.
Any of Apple’s M series chips will be fine. As for PC, just check your GPU specs for HEVC hardware acceleration.

Dynamic range on the S-I codec is great than the others it seems, not sure if that’s the case or just more color info retained but definitely a cool test!

It also depends on the type of card you’re using. Some of these aren’t available if you’re using certain cards, and certain functions aren’t available unless you use certain cards

After experimenting with the XAVC HS vs XAVC S-I 4K footage, I've found my system is able to edit the S-I footage effortlessly. While I did add hardware to support the HS footage it is not as smooth in the timeline even at 1080p timeline. S-I 4K in DaVinci Resolve is buttery smooth! Downside? 2-3x the file size so I need a bigger memory card now!

The video files are only in MP4?? I don’t understand…. Isn’t it a compressed file??
