Three bullets = No hope.

Inspired by the 2007 movie adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist's ending scene, I wanted to make my own version of the ending.

The fact Nick took the worst death out of them 4 is respectable.

Let’s face it - without the escape vehicles, they’re left for dead. Survival maps are perfect conveyances that they’re only counting down their demise until their guns go click.

Honestly nick is the one on the team who would do this. Grow a connection with the people he’s been surviving with and when it’s the end of the line he’s the one to take them out. The Mist was a pretty good movie

The way Nick apologies to Ellis and moments before he dies he says "we're cool" that means No matter what Nick said to Ellis he still cared about Nick And also Nick saying "Goodnight Rochelle..." That made my heart sink (also this game is childhood and I love all of these characters to bits) then Nick's classic scream that has been use at the very least once in every L4D SFM video and over all this was a great sfm

To be completely honest, the dialogue and interactions actually work in a canon way. If this actually happened to the survivors, Nick would probably be the one to put the rest of them down as an act of mercy, before taking his own life. This rocks, homeboy.

This is...depressing...This means every detail in this SFM is perfect which captures how it feels to give up in a dead-end situation.

Honestly, after reading most of the messages written on the walls inside the saferooms, it's kinda sad knowing every other survivor group there was out there probably ended up dying in similar ways to this.

Alt Ending: After Nick kills the others and accepts his fate, as all sound and feeling leaves his mind, he waits outside for his sudden death but after a long 30 seconds, nothing happens, he looks up to realize he's surrounded by military vehicles and soldiers, he gets a feeling of joy before it quickly turns into dread as he realizes he had killed his friends, if he had only waited a few moments more, they could've all gotten alive.

With Valve abandoning L4D and literally leaving the survivors for dead, I think of this as the official end of our beloved 4 survivors .

It makes sense that Nick is the one to kill them to prevent them from experiencing a terrible fate. Nick has a strong will that is very useful for making the hardest choices. He's able to make some decisions others would either take time to think on or wouldn't know what to do. It's part of why I love Nick so much. He can be a dick but the guy does give a shit about Rochelle, Coach and Ellis. Respect for this man.

Out of the 4 L4D2 survivors Nick would be the only one I could imagine doing a mercy call on that.What a badass

Fun fact : This is a reference to the ending of The Mist. A movie that's based off one of Stephen King's many great books. (It's great despite its age)

I could see this being a kind of ending where they got stuck at the bridge in The Passing, but the original survivors had already departed to the Keys. Nick and the others would be stranded with no way out. Once the car was out of gas and their ammo ran dry, this would likely be it. And that's horrible to consider.

I guess if L4D2 released at the same time as LiS, we would get endings such as this. Friendly-fires, downing allies, and restarts lead to specific bad endings. Pretty grim, but well-made.
