(Additional steps)
- Make the Ocean into a canvas and the boat into a brush
That way it’ll leave streaks on the ocean

- Add a shrink wrap modifier so the boat doesn’t have to be hand animated and will move along the ocean itself (might have problems tho)

As someone who has lived next to the ocean their entire life, I think digital artists still have a long ways to go when it comes to animating the ocean.
They often animate what people imagine the ocean to look like, and not what it actually looks like. It's not a big deal, but for someone like me who sees the ocean everyday, it never looks right. You can stare at it for hours, and notice so many little patterns in the waves, things that simply aren't depicted in digital media.
