Can I start my herbs off in small beginner pots and then eventually add them all into one big pot?

Do you have any suggestion or maybe an ideal plant you recommend for beginners? It’s my dream to care for a thriving and productive garden someday but I have killed every plant in my care. It’s very discouraging. And then of course there’s all the garden planning and soil quality issues that I know nothing about as well.

All I see is a bunch of Basil and Rosemary. Maybe something in the back, too but I cannot make it out. If you plant mint and/or cilantro in that pot and you have a different story
