The Hollywood Bowl is an historic live venue. The Doors' appearance here established them as probably the biggest American rock band of the time.

Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison in the movie The Doors is one of the most underrated performances of the 90's.

Definitely do "Light My Fire". One of Jim Morrison's best vocals. "L.A.Woman" is also awesome (and the cover by Billy Idol is great too). Another one that you might do on New Year's Eve is The Doors' song, "The End."

So many great hits by The Doors: "People Are Strange", "Break On Through (To The Other Side)", "L.A. Woman", "Love Her Madly", "Light My Fire", "Love Me Two Times", "Riders On The Storm", among many others.

The Doors were among the most controversial & influential rock acts of the 1960s, mostly due to Jim Morrison's lyrics & voice. They had a lot of hits including "The End", "Light My Fire", "Break On Through (To The Other Side)", "Love Me Two Times", "L.A. Woman", "People Are Strange", "Hello, I Love You", "Touch Me", "The Unknown Soldier", "Roadhouse Blues", "Love Her Madly", "Riders On The Storm". Sadly Jim Morrison died in 1971 at the age of only 27 but left a great legacy of music.

The Doors were definitely cool. Jim Morrison, their singer, along with Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix all died within months of each other at the age of 27, which is where the infamous “27 Club” comes from. Many more people have since become members, as well... Good work, my friends!!

I think the studio version is better. If you haven't listened to "Soul Kitchen", you should, it's a great Doors song.

"Roadhouse Blues" is an absolute banger. Check it out!

Love The Doors. LA Woman and Riders on the Storm are two worth checking out. :)

Lots of Doors classics to dive into. Amber loves Pink Floyd and would totally be down for “The End” and “The Music’s Over”

The Doors were one of the greatest, most original bands, yet one of the most odd collection of musicians; a classically trained pianist, a flamenco guitarist, a jazz drummer and a singer who had never sung! What a crazy stew!

A whole lot of hits from the Doors. Seriously. But they're better in the studio. Have to remember that in the Sixties, bands were playing larger venues, but their audio equipment wasn't always up to it. Like, the Beatles quit touring because in the arenas they couldn't hear themselves play.

BTW, it's not the Super Bowl, though the first Super Bowl was in 1967. It's the Hollywood Bowl ... a music venue.

The Bowl is "The Hollywood Bowl", an outdoor amphitheatre in Los Angeles.

Great choice guys. 👌Another great song by The Doors was "Light my Fire" it was released in 1967.

A bit of good advice: You should almost always listen to studio versions first. That's how the listeners knew the songs in the 50s, 60s, & 70s, & even beyond. We listened to the radio to hear the new songs (old ones, too) & whenever possible, we bought the records we liked. A live performance was usually heard only when you were at a concert. Occasionally, artists would release live albums, coming from recorded concerts, & there's definitely some GREAT stuff among them, but recording equipment at the time didn't always capture the all the nuances of a performance. That's why, IMHO, you should react to the versions most widely known, then follow the comments to lead you to the best of the live performances that you'd like to hear.
BTW - This performance was at The Hollywood Bowl, an iconic concert venue in the heart of Hollywood, CA.

The Doors are/were one of my favourite Bands EVER

The Doors sound better in studio because Jim Morrison goes off the rails so much in the live performances that you don’t really get a good feel for what the song originally sounded like.
