Josh, when I first started using the Right Capital software, I made a bunch of mistakes in completing the data. And, I'm a degreed accountant that uses all kinds of forms and apps in my business. I would encourage everyone to verify and then re-verify several times their input data before relying on the output.

I made the same mistake when I first started Right Capital. I included my mortgage, property taxes, home maintenance & healthcare premiums in my monthly budget needs. It totaled to $4000 a month. Then I realized they were taken into account elsewhere in Right Capital, so I stripped them out and it turns out I'm spending only $2000 a month. I changed my retirement budget (in today's dollars) to $3000 a month (I'll dine out more, take classes, shop more, etc) and that raised my probably of success by a huge amount. Made me feel better about the recent slump in my investments as well. 😊

You mean if the inputs (expenses) are wrong the outputs (probability of success) are wrong?
I get it now, that is why we have to print "Do not put over head, may cause suffocation or death" on plastic bags.
Amazing!

A problem I ran into with a different application was inadvertently including a COLA with my pension. I thought I was on easy street.

I found this useless with making too many
assumptions. Why?

Lots of these apps are so complicated. I use an excel spreadsheet for expenses but I use Mint to keep track of my net worth.

The guy sounds wealthy, but boy it's messed up I'd rather have mine smaller and much more simple.
