You know they are more than capable when the wheel not on rollers spins on dry asphalt.

Good clip as always ! The 4WD on the Ford worked as expected. When I bought my RS for XMAS in 2017 and I went up a road covered in ice and snow, I saw what the car was capable of. I had people spin out in front of me while the RS was planted and worked overtime.

PS. The front nose of the vehicle also acted as a plough 😂.

Nie znam drugiego takiego kanału, który by tak dokładnie testował te systemy

Both cars did well, perhaps better than some suv

Great video! Kinda surprised the Yaris had so much trouble with the 1 front 2 rear on roller test. I thought that torsen diff in the front would've worked better. Somehow the focus' open diff with brake modulation was better, lol.

You can try applying the brake and throttle together when you were stucked on the roller, like the GR Yaris in the video. Because that would give the LSD a "preload" force to enable it to send more torque to the better gripped tyre. But this trick is only useful on mechanically torque-sensitive differential, like Torsen or Clutch-based LSD. For cars with open differential that may not work.

I've been wondering this since the last video with the focus, is this focus RS stock? The rake is far higher than stock, seems to me that the front end sits way lower than stock, or the back end sits higher, which may explain why the rear wheel was getting almost no grip when the other side is raised.

The wheels and tires are also a big part and those are definitely not stock, seems to be winter tires, in winter as you can see from the snow piles in the background. The yaris was tested in either spring or summer as you can tell from the plants in the background, with most likely summer tires.

I'd be curious to see how a stock focus would perform, since this one was struggling with grip issues and that doesn't mean it's unable to send enough power to that rear wheel to break itself free.

I'd like to see the new golf R vs A45s both with drift mode

Still looks like they performed better than alot of SUV’s.

Not sure if it was mentioned but it would have been a better outcome for the RS if you used one with a lsd. I think you mentioned this one didn’t. My 2018 LE came with one from the factory.

Great video. As the Yaris was advertised as a rally inspired car and having 2 front and rear diff, I'm suprised to see it struggle with the front having no grip and the rear having grip on 1 wheel. The front of the RS is only an open diff but it seems ok when only one front wheel has grip.
And also you guys did the explanation of Yaris AWD, can you do one for the RS AWD as well?

I think using track mode would be more interesting than drift mode. Because drift mode is designed to lose grip 😅🤔

You need to use a 2018 RS it has a mech front LSD.

Po torsenach w Yarisie spodziewałem się trochę więcej...poza tym napędy zdawały się gorzej radzić sobie z brakiem przyczepności im bardziej zaawansowany był program (na Track Expert bardzo późno załączały)

18 RS has a limited slip front diff. But of course we have to use data from a 16-17 car.

These small cars are very obscure and not very popular in the United States. Makes for interesting viewing!
