Probably my favourite ELO song. A hidden masterpiece and a great opener to 'A New World Record'

Can you imagine, we got to know this when I was 18. I am almost 60 now. We LOVED ELO. When I was a teenager I actually got my conservative parents (I am from the Netherlands) involved in this. They loved ELO until they the end of their lives.

You know Jamel that ELO are among the gods of Rock n' Roll. There is not a group like them. And very underrated!!!

It took 4 Beatles and George Martin to accomplish what Jeff Lynne has done musically all by himself. Of course, by popularity and commercially, The Beatles are no 1 but musically Jeff Lynne rules. I am a huge Beatles fan but Jeff Lynne is much better with Harmonies, Orchestration, as an incredible Producer, singer and songwriter. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!! Please Tour in 2024!!!

Jeff Lynne is a genius. No Doubt. But I remember the drummer too: "Bev Bevan". Bevan was amazing.

Jeff Lynne is a genius. One of my favorite ELO songs is "Showdown" from their third album.

Tightrope was the opening tune to their 2016 Hollywood Bowl Performance where they were joined by a full orchestra and conductor. It was a very rare occasion to see this happen. They then played it on the arena tour that followed. Sounds nearly as good as the recorded version.

1079 Out of the Blue world tour this was used as their opening song. The stage at the beginning was a closed space ship. As lasers flew off in every direction the song started and the entire top of the stage lifted off (Became the overhead lights, The stage was lifted from the floor into playing position and the show started. Best opening of any show I have ever seen.

Jeff Lynne the singer is the master mind of ELO. You should hear their greatest hits. Super!!!
John Lennon called them the new Beatles. Elo was influenced by the Beatles. Later on Jeff collaborated with the Beatles and produce some songs for George Harrison. ELO is something else. I love your channel!!

On "A New World Record" this great opening track is followed by Telephone Line and then Rockaria! It doesn't get much better than that!

Great choice. I grew up on this music (HS class of 76). This was played on late night FM radio, separating itself from the cookie-cutter top 40 am radio wheel. So glad you are helping bring this music to new generations.
