Don’t forget to tell black people that the USA was the LAST country to have slaves from Africa!
Literally EVERY country has had slaves throughout their history; not just the USA smh

The course about politics is political?

One of the first things fascists target are intellectuals and education.

Dewhatso is using the same play book that Alabama's Gov. George Wallace used back when I was little. He used keeping the black down in the news as a stepping stone to keep his job as governor and the dream of being President one day. George Wallace was Governor during the Selma Alabama Voting Rights March that was reported, happened because only about 2 percent of Selma's eligible Black voters (about 300 out of 15, 000) had managed to register to vote. George Wallace was also the Governor that made national TV News standing in a Alabama college doorway saying no BLACKS are going to be going to this COLLEGE. George Wallace would throw a fit when he did not get his way and he said jump and people did not say how high. The only people treated worse than the BLACKS were the local Alabama Indains in Alabama. Don't think twice that Dewhatso will not attack anybody that he thinks will get him in the President Office. Do I agree with all courses in school, NO. Do I think Dewhatso does what he does because he does not get his way, YES. Parent's choice when it came to Covid shots, Dewhatso choice, not parent choice when it comes to what parents kids can take in College, what parent want their kids to be able to read from the libary. Spend Florida tax payers money to fly to Texas, picked up HISPANIC people promising them jobs up North (people that came to the US to work to provide for their family) and then dumping them out on the street, just for a NEWS MOMent to make National News. This man is so Sad, so SAD

We still remember the summer of 2020 and what BLM did to our cities.

How about a section on riots, smash and grab within blacks, single parenthood, victimhood about everything, not taking responsibility for anything… yaull know what I’m talking about 🙄

from my understanding the course is completely optional which means the only reason reason to get rid of it is a result of a bias. If I have to learn about history of the white man against my will then people should have the "option" to learn about the history of the black man

Why not? Honestly its a shame that native American history isn't required nationally

There should be no color history month. Everything should be included in AMERICAN history.

Creating a separate color studies creates SEGREGATION. That thing many Americans died fighting over.

Desantos is pretty serious about getting rid of the woke crap

They should rename the course "black history from a white perspective". Desantis is so bad.

Lucky the college doesn't just sell degrees, like the South Florida Nurse program did.

Gotta love how something like " intersectionality " is controversial. You know, the idea that people (most people) can belong to and fluidly move through multiple social groups/categories in their lives. For example. you can be both wealthy and well-off, yet still discriminated against in certain situations/environments. Or, you can be "white" - part of a statistically dominant demographic, yet still marginalized in other ways. People are complex and a society is complicated, hence "intersectionality".

Of course we know this isn't about education. It's about Desantis playing up racial fears and prejudices for political support among those sorely lacking in comprehensive education. It's about keeping future voters dumb and under thumb.

Take a shot at racism and then see who acts wounded.

Ugh.

NO ONE is saying AA isn't important, just that the garbage woke stuff isn't required.

I think CollegeBoard is being more strategic than they look... Think about it: they've removed all the justifications for DeSantis to object EXCEPT for not wanting to teach the African-American perspective on history.

If they reject it now, they prove they're just objecting because they are racist.

Not everyone would come to this conclusion, but the people that matter will.

Is this an elective course or would everyone have to take it? If it's an elective course, I don't understand the issue. AP means it's a college level course and you would learn the same thing on a college campus.

Lets teach who made all the money off slavery. Some of the companies, or offshoots of these companies are still in business. Slavery was a BUSINESS. Free labor.

They actually made NO changes to the content, just restructured the organization of the course. Total B.S. Every single piece of objectionable content is STILL in it.

The issue of slavery ought to be covered by someone like Thomas Sowell, who would not ignore that the Atlantic trade in slaves was an expansion of the age-old trade in the Mediterranean, with the Muslim powers and well as the Christian being deeply involved. My guesses is that not on person on the board would know that Mohammed Ali, the ruler of Egypt in the early 19th century, not the boxer, was the ruler of an egypt in which slavery was a part of the economy, just as it had been in Roman times?
