College board says it doesn’t bow down to political pressure while infusing their courses with biased political rhetoric…

If the prospective course is about African American history then the BLM movement must be included. How can it not be? It would be akin to a course on Nelson Mandela that omitted the anti-apartheid movement.

More than one way to skin a cat. I would hate to grow up in Florida as a kid with Conchs. I've lived there a few times and they're severely, "poorly educated" down there.

They just teach what they want people to know.

I agree let have a African American course BUT disagree we don’t have to take it and make it mandatory

What gives them special status? Absurd

They can do that in college, where they’ve paid for that education. Not public schools. Where we ALL pay for it. No politics in schools. And that is purely what it is. No one else gets those kinds of high school classes curtailed to them.

College Board has lost all integrity and thankfully conservatives continue to show their bigotry. They will continue to lose support of my generation and Gen Z so keep it up.

They shouldn't have backed down at all. We shouldn't be negotiating with political terrorists.

Education should be the one place where we stick to the objective and leave the subjective mostly at home or anywhere other than in our education systems. Just as an example, simply saying "it is just a theory" is pretty stupid since theory literally means "well-supported explanation of observations". Many people get theory and hypothesis mixed up and that is fine but imho if they do they shouldn't be making decisions regarding education. If a thing is true in the objective sense of the word and relevant, at least as much as algebra is for the average person, then we should teach it regardless of how anyone feels about it. Just as an example, I don't care at all if someone believes some magic sky hippy created the world 150 years ago and because of that objectively false belief they fight the teaching of evolution. We need to stop pandering to delusional people and or people who are so biased they are practically blind.

AP courses will never be relevant to most Americans in any case.

How would CRT and BLM studies help in handling you a job or gain a useful skill anyway?

I never heard anyone talking about "race theories" or whatnot outside in the real world? So it makes sense to dispatch this since it sounds like a pointless topic/rip-off for the real world.

No employer and bank business loans will care about your race as long as you have the skills, competence, and qualifications they want.

This Ron Allen person misrepresented critical race theory as Black history being central to American history. CRT IS NOT ABLE THAT. No one argues Blackhistory should be taught in American history. He also says these things are hard to define, but he himself has no problem defining these terms and adamantly saying these theories shouldn't be controversial. Just disingenuous. You find as long as those woke, sexualized, divisive topics taken out, a revised course would be welcomed in Florida and elsewhere to celebrate Black contribution to American history.

this is racist and very VERY inappropriate.. think about it, we don't have a native American history month, we don't have native American studies and this is their land!!!

there was a total of around 10million slaves in total in America through out all of slavery in America (the highest population was in the late 1800's with 4million) and out of all these yrs of slavery a few 100 was killed... you see slaves had value and could earn you money without having to do work yourself so killing a slave wasn't a smart thing, they was fed, they was given clothing and they was given a living quarters (or most of them would've frozen to death)... in comparison the native Americans had no value and was hunted for sport or land rights, its estimated that well over 100million native Americans was slaughtered and their lands was stolen by the Europeans...

A degree or certificate coming out of Florida should be looked at careful or even questioned.
