THANKS, David. Just a comment, many of us still have older phones without face id. I believe fingerprints/touch id are also useful. Appreciate all your advice and suggestions.

If you're on vacation it's a good idea to turn off unlocking your phone with your Apple Watch feature as well, if you have that turned on. It's at the top of Face ID & Passcode settings.

Where is this setting in iOS 17.4 or higher? In iOS 17.4, there is no longer a “Face ID and Passcode” setting. it’s now designated “Face ID & Attention” So, how and where do we access “Control Center” in Settings to turn this off on the Lock Screen now?

I have found a far superior way to keep my phone safe is to not allow passcode changes (face ID does not show up in settings), account changes and cellular data changes which can be found under Screen Time, Content and Privacy Restrictions, and under Allow Changes, turn Passcode Changes, Account Changes, Cellular Data Changes to Don’t Allow. A separate Screen Time passcode must be set up to make these changes.

Of course before you do this, make sure Control Center Access is turned off and Stolen Device Protection is turned on.

I previously had the Screen Time settings set up and my Stolen Device Protection was defaulted to on when I downloaded the update. 🤷‍♀️

Very useful information, as are all of your videos. Do you have a video specifically on iCloud email and the important settings, especially to prevent junk mail etc. ? Thanks for all of your informative videos!

Hey David, it's being pointed out that users don't have much control over what your phone is cosidering a "Familiar Location" if you hang out at the same bar a lot, and that is where your phone is taken, that could be a problem, some are already advising to set the phone to always delay.

It would certainly be NICE if Apple wrote a software fix for those phones that top out at OS 16, such as my iPhone X

Super- thank you! You may want to correct spelling of ‘thief’ 😉

I can't find the Face ID & Passcode on my iPhone 15 Pro Max 17.3. It's not there like it is on your demonstration (under Siri & Search and above Emergency SOS). How do I find it?
