I find the erase my iPhone feature extremely impractical and foolish at best. If a criminal has stolen your iPhone and turned off the Wi-Fi and mobile data, the iPhone cannot be erased. How on earth is the iPhone supposed to connect to a wifi or network source if it’s in lost mode and locked down. It just makes no sense. It’s as though the device will pending the erase forever.

If I had a new iPhone I would make sure to keep it on me 24/7 and never let it leave my pocket unless I know I am safe. I already kind of do this with my older Oneplus 7 Pro. I needed this info because I will be switching to the 13 Pro Max soon.

my iPhone 11 Pro Max 512gb got stolen yesterday by my security boy 😭😭😭😭😭I feel very sad and can't stop crying. He took my phone and my mom's phone. My iPhone got stolen so traced it to a house but thief was gone by the time we got there (tracking with find my iPhone) then the next day the thief managed to disable the find my iPhone feature, got notification on my iPad that find my iPhone has been disabled and the iPhone was erased. I think the thieves are able to flash the device with some sort of hacked software. I have the IMEI so will try trace it through the networks. Locked iPhone not as secure or unusable as we assume, so personal recommendation is to keep backup of all your files, my app data is backed up but I've lost all my photos now cause I didn't have enough iCloud storage, will pay for storage in future to at least learn something from this experience

I left my phone on top of my moms car ( yes I’m that dumb) and she left for work and I come back up to look for it and couldn’t see so I tried to locate it and it had fallen of her car in the road and someone picked up and found it I used the lost phone button on the find my iPhone app and it sent them a phone number to call and they called my dad and now I got it back but... it was run over by a car it still works just cracked.

If your I phone is stolen and your in another country with only a desk top computer to you have to purchase an apple card to unlock or lock your account
