I've always been somewhat intimidated by VBA command options -- declaring the initial variables, navigating the syntax, you get the idea. I wanted to create a macro that hides certain rows in a report based on a criteria. (The rows in question used dynamic array formulas with complex conditions so traditional filters were problematic). I also wanted to link the macro to a button and have the button text read either "Hide" if the rows were displayed or "Unhide" is the rows were hidden (a toggle situation). I engaged Chat GPT 4.0 and pretty much used the same language you see in this comment to see if ChatGPT could assist me in writing the macro. It did really well. It not only wrote the macro but had instructions that helped implement the macro -- making it worksheet specific, making general references specific, etc. I had a couple of syntax errors to clean up but it was much easier to edit than to have created the whole macro from scratch.

Great Video. Just as Chris Wagner stated, this could be great for writing macros. Especially for someone like myself that is not good at VBA.

What version of ChatGPT are you using? If I try I get "I can't process file uploads directly. However, you can share details from your Excel file, like data or specific questions, and I’d be happy to help you analyze it or answer any questions!"

Hey ChatGPT, If I upload an encrypted top secret government file can you remove the password?

Quite dangerous from a business point of view. Random unauthorised people access protected worksheets / books
