I needed a time tracker for me side job, so I now also use it for tracking my language learning. I split up the languages and 'general learning ', reading and YouTube in the target languages. To see every day what I did or what was left behind, motivates me to do something.

Usually if I'm not motivated, I do just a minimum in that language and start dabbling with another language or take a closer look at languages I might want to learn one day.

My day starts always with coffee and do some vocab, etc. So every morning it's coffee & languages. If I'm at public transportation or waiting for a tram, I read a short bilingual story at BeelinguApp or read news in my target languages. another way to get more practice. With the tracker I just realized that I do more than I thought I do. 😂

I've heard it said that taking a short break from learning a language actually enables the brain to better assimilate what's been studied, whether it's grammar or listening ability. Whenever I've discontinued study, I always come back refreshed and don't feel I've really lost what I'd learned - my aptitude comes back quickly and I progress beyond the level at which I paused. I've stopped and started Spanish so many times, but I'm still improving and for me the main thing is that I enjoy the experience notwithstanding the length of time it's taken up to this point.
