I struggled for 2 nights with this (the first one you showed) without much luck. Then just before I went to bed tonight I picked up my other nylonstring guitar, with lower tension strings (and slightly thinner neck), and lo and behold: I was able to pull it off almost immediately. Still needs practice, though it felt really encouraging.

Bloody hell my fingers hurt..😅 its very difficult because the other strings are muted it sometims sounds right, it looks easy but it's not. Im going to keep practicing. It's what I've been doing, im practicing a chord like ill practice this for literally a week...im dead serious. it works for me to practice each chord for 5-6 days. Its fun it is, cheers mate.. nice one 👍🏻💯🙏🏻

John Jay in Milwaukee gave me guitar lessons in 1973 was in the key of sea C which included the key the sea chord the G7 chord and the f chord challenging me that if you can play the f chord you can play any chord on the guitar add lesson number two and I nailed the f chord so 51 years later I teach guitar and I have a trick for teaching the f chord

For anyone new checking in; Please just learn it the right way. It's perfectly fine to cheat it sometimes in a few songs but ultimately you're gonna want to have the correct one down. This is basically the base for other barre chords.

My hand just wasn't built for an F chord. My index finger curves inward. I've been playing it the easy way you show here -my index finger tip on the first two strings but that finger is literally lying on its side and unable to press the strings true. The barre technique for F that you showed here first, I've never tried it until now and that method seems to work better for me! 😂
