Due to circumstances beyond my control (power outage), this is a short video of removing the front accessories and taking a look inside the front cover of the D4400 engine on this 1936 Caterpillar RD-4. There is definitely more to come and thanks for watching!

You get power outages also! We get power outages way more often than when I bought the place 35 years ago. I’ve noticed that you have the same heating system in the shop as I have, to bad Mother Nature controls the thermostat.

Although a little pricey and somewhat hard to find, a product called Kroil, , is the best penetrating fluid I have used. I work on the same vintage John Deere tractors, usually in comparable condition to your crawler. It is helpful. Last can of spray I bought I located on, , you guessed it; Amazon. Chain auto parts store don't seem to have it.

I vote your next project is working on one of our 2838 wheelers so it's prepped and ready to go for baby girl. K? Thanks. 😗

Lifting brackets are a good idea. Are the outages usually short duration there?

Kyle, don't you think covering the entire vehicle in a thin coat of oil in advance would make disassembly easier?
