I can not seem to get this bigger basket dialled in. Relatively consistent sour taste - particularly at the end of the shot.
I've adjusted water volume, grams of coffee, and grind size. I was getting perfect shots of espresso with the 6-8g basket. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Just received ours, absolutely FANTASTIC! I only wish the doser, tamper, and WDT tool would all fit together into the Outin for travel. Keeping everything contained in one unit would make it perfect! I am in the process of putting together my travel setup. My travel setup includes the Outin with Nano basket plus, MHW-3bomber mini cube coffee scale 2.0, original 1zpresso manual grinder, Subminimal Flick WDT tool, Bellman 50SS steamer, and MSR Pocket Rocket stove (all packaged nicely with additional accoutrement in a travel case). Maybe I should start a side hustle putting all this together and selling the pre-made travel kit?!

Excellent extension which I really love, however: do NOT grind ultra-fine (as this video suggests), unless you have some cheap grinder that tries to pass medium-fine for ultra-fine. If you grind truly ultra-fine you'll have troubles to push any water through it at all. On my first attempt with this extension I tried to follow this video's advice and used 18 g of medium dark roasted beans (Cruz Gorda from Berlin Barn roastery) grind with K-Ultra set to 25 (the bottom for suggested espresso range with this grinder is 30). I had to run the Outin Nano twice as for the first time only couple drops (literally, it might have been five to six, seven individual separated droplets) went through, and on the second run I've got around 40 g of output. The quality of such an espresso you can easily imagine—it wasn't great. So I suggest you stay within espresso range.

I recently purchased this and can't pull a double shot. The Outin stops at about 25 grams; I'd like 36 grams for a double shot. I know i can hit the button again, but that creates a pause. Is there another way to pull a double shot?

in the video I doubt if there is 18 grams of coffee in the basket. When I use 18 grams it will fill up the basket a lot more as in the video demonstrated. Just tried different solutions and the correct grind and the good temperature will have some espresso. As in the video with a lot of crema is not realistic in my opinion. Never had it but eventually created a espresso with some 3mm of crema..

Unfortunately a total failure. As much as we are thrilled with the machine and its original basket, the Basket Plus extension is very disappointing. It is simply not possible for us to achieve any remotely useful result. We tried the grinding levels from coarse to very fine, different amounts of powder (between 15g to 18g), but none of this leads to a good result. It always results in a thin, very bitter broth that is inedible. In addition, the powder is still relatively dry after each use, so hardly any water gets through. And at different grinding levels. Unfortunately a bad purchase, very disappointing. So we'll stick with the original, because it works excellently.
