This!!! Now this is a great tutorial for everyone on how to put together a bottom end. Not only did you mention the torque specs & gaps on video but you also included the diagram so anyone can pause it if they were following along with you.
Love it! Great job Dana 🤟🏽

Dana, I know this an old video BUT this video WAS/IS EXTREMELY helpful when rebuilding my K series today. Thanks SO much for posting torque sequences and specs screen shots!! 👍🏻🔥🙏🏻🙏🏻

I love the direction the channel has been headed this year, more OEM parts and higher quality work, attention to detail and care, comes with age as I value these things more myself now also. Keep it up!

Dana I felt like I was in School watching this k24 short block build. So informative. Thanks for sharing this vid.

What I needed! I’ve decided to do the same build. The empty eg shell has been waiting for your guidance. Thanks bruh

Very impressive, from rusty to"you can't even tell it was there"! SWC always making that magic happen.

Great video my dude. I love watching engine build videos and yours was no exception. I will say one thing though. I feel like when you were measuring the plastigauge you may have gotten it backwards. If the plastigauge strip on the journal is a little LARGER (that being important) than the measuring lines on the paper, it actually means your clearance is a little less. The less clearance, the more the wax spreads out if that makes any sense. Therefore if the wax is a little larger than the .0015 line on the paper, it's actually a .0014 measurement, not a .0016 like you were saying. I know it's kind of splitting hairs but it actually makes your clearances even better in spec. Just thought I would put that out there for others in case they have the same scenario.

im using chem dip right now to clean some prb pistons before i put them back in my block. how long did you leave the pistons in? i wanna keep them in overnight but only did one so far for about an hr. most of the carbon is off but want to just let them sit and not sit around waiting on them

I've always used a degree wheel to get to the right degree but it's not crazy if it works. Great work! I've been waiting for you to start doing engine work.

Thanks! This was the only video I needed to rebuild my K24A2 bottom end… including the type S oil pump too!

Although ring orientation is important when assembling. The rings rotate on the piston while it's running.

This guide is perfect! Heading into rebuilding a k24a2 to swap into a fg2. Links or part numbers for the odds and ends would make it even better. Great vid <3

Don't even worry so much about clocking rings, they all move with time, just make sure they don't align
