I’ve been T1D for 45 years now and I have lived through all the changes, gone into battle with T1D and come out without any diabetic complications or issues. I used Medtronic for many, many years until I let a young and inexperienced DE talk me into Tandem and Dexcom. Great for some, but it was an absolute nightmare for me. In Australia we have to have private health insurance to receive a new pump every four years ie out of warranty and I’ve gone back to Medtronic. I have had 2 weeks at 100% TIR and the other weeks in the 90’s. I really wish that you had asked the Medtronic spokesperson when the new CGM is bound for Australia. Do you think that you could remember next time you have these opportunities to include Australia in the conversation please. 😊

Great video. Thanks for the update. Been watching it making its way through the pipeline. Look forward to it coming to the US. The 780G and G4 is a wonderful pump/CGM setup and so are the extended wear infusion sets. Life has become easy and frustration free over the past few years and the Simplera will make it even better. Look forward to hearing more about the 890 in the future also.

Excellent video I've been on the 780g for just under a year now and the only negative is the hassle with setting up the G4 sensors these new ones look so much easier hopefully get changed over when they come to the UK 🤞

I've been with Medtronic for 20yrs and the Sensor 4 has me looking to change pump companies. I was just told that the Simplera doesn't work with the 780g yet. Medtronic has been doing a lot of fibbing now!! Another thing is how can Europe already have it approved, yet in America we're last!! The alarm system will drive you crazy!!

Hey Justin! Great video as always (flip hair emoji), I have now been given a cgm which is the Freestyle Libre 2. My dietician said that I needed it because I have long and short-acting insulin. My dietician was originally going to give me the cgm when I first got the long-acting insulin. She felt I would be a bit too anxious and obsessive with it, but surprisingly, I only look at it before breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and before falling asleep. Which is what the dietician recommended that I would do. As I have seen I completely understand in your videos, how anyone would be around it all the time. But the one bit of advice that has helped me is, "If you want a good result, why look at it every second? Because it's slow and would make anyone feel anxious, so if you want that good result, give it time to get to where you want it to be and why watch paint dry." lol

I love the aesthetics of this CGM lol...apparently that's the point I'm at in my CGM opinions heh. But, I have bad memories of the original CGM I was on the Medtronic 530g before switching to Tandem/Dexcom G5 years ago. The Medtronic Enlight was a freakin' harpoon of a device that required like 12 layers of tape to stay down.

I'm currently on the Medtronic 780g. But, I'm thinking seriously of switching to Beta Bionics iLet pump once it becomes available in Finland.

Nice video, thanks a lot! Sorry in advance for my very "nerd" comment: I'm using Guardian-4 sensor, no insulin pump, I have an Android Phone supporting Medronic App (Guardian) and everything is working very well (finally): I did not get if Simplera + IN-Pen system supports Android and if yes, what about android Smartwatch integration? Now I can only see notification on my Android smartwatch with Guardian, I'd like to see one day also blood sugar level on my smartwatch.

I find Medtronic, is like Apple. They want to keep everyone tied to their eco system... Unlike most other pump companies work with other CGM manufactures to use the best products out their to enhance and advance their own products. Medtronic sensors are 10+ years behind in function, reliably, insertion, and cosmetics to what is currently available.

90% of my censors that have fallen off is on the back of the arm. I find it funny that they say back of the arm is the best place. Never has been for me.

I am Australian and have had type one diabetes for 63 years. A few complications, the main being eyes. I'm fairly fit and healthy. I received a 780G recently, under the promise that by June, the Simplera would be available. Now Diabetes Victoria informed me that it will be next year in Australia. Evidently it's a Government decision. They were reticent to comment fully. Compared to other glucose monitoring systems, the G4 is a nightmare. And in Australia, Medtronic's instructs only to insert the device in the back of one's arms, or the rear buttocks. Which is impossible to do if one is by oneself.

I'm T1D and considering switching to Medtronic -- if this sensor was FDA approved in August, when can we use the Simplera CGM?

Do I need 2 pens, for fast and slow insulin?

I’m currently on an Omnipod dash and dexcom g6 (without DIY) and have an option to go for Medtronic 780g with guardian 3/4.
I do not want to change my setup to 780g due to Guardian poor performance, low accuracy and calibration requirements… Am I wrong?

I have scar tissue on back of my arms from 3.5 years of using Guardian 3/4 sensor. Will this be any different or same needle size?

Great concept, but we will be waiting forever in the US for this to be approved and released. Medtronic is the best in my experience, I am just so tired of waiting on their releases. Very frustrating.
