I’m seriously excited about this CGM. The Guardian 4 is so complicated to put on and I can’t stand having to recharge the sensor. I’m definitely ready for the Simplara. Thank you for the great video!😊

My Daughter has been using the Medtronic 780g and guardian 4 sensor for a little over six months. I'm pretty excited about this new one, with a young person the current warm up and charge time is a real pain, if there's a failure late in the day or night you end up staying up very late or setting alarms and waking the kid up to make sure it's working or a finger prick to enable smart guard. The new 30 minutes warm up will make things a lot easier and quicker.

I've been a medtronic user for 3 years now and can't say I've had any issues. I've recently changed from the 670g to the 780g with the guardian 3 sensor and I've found the accuracy very good and the pump has kept me in range beautifully. I love that I don't have to think about it as much. It corrects me without me having to know. Happy user here 😁 yes I would definitely try out the new CGM, looks good and application much easier.

As a 37 years pump wearer and 18 years CGM wearer, I was (emphasize was) a Medtronics fan. But I finally gave up on Medtronics due to the poor performance of their CGM’s. I switched to Libre and then to DexCom G6 a couple of years ago. I continued to use Medtronics pumps but have now moved away from Medtronics pumps in order to take advantage of the automatic systems.

Medtronics CEO should be furious at the lack of improvement in accuracy - the most critical capability needed. MARD of 10.2 (the new improved CGM) compared to ~7 (averaging MARD scores for Libre and DexCom) is ~45% worse score for Medtronics. As a wearer of all three, that difference matches my gut feel for how less accurate the Medtronics CGM’s were/are.

disappointed in Medtronics!!

I use a Medtronic pump but a Dexcom CGM. It doesn't require constant calibration like Medtronic, which is a huge offputter for me. I'll be sticking with Dexcom

I have been a T1D for almost 60years, and on some model Medtronic pump since the 508.

I have two days till my insurance warrantee expires to replace my old 670G. I was getting excited about the features of the 780G package. But I am sensing folks like the newer Medtronics 780G pump, but hate their gen4 CGM overall.

Today I discovered this group and in randomly reading the discussion I get the feelings that folk (to some degree.) mix and match pumps and CGM units. I s this possible? I assumed they were proprietary.

So the BIGGEST company in insulin pump tech is still months if not years behind competitors. Good thing I switched.

Libre 2 is one sensor. Same thing. Not sure what I am missing? 60 min warm-up is different L2

I use the Guardian 4 at the moment, but my hospital is switching all of them out with the Simplera. However, it's on back order in my country, so I have to wait 3 more weeks before I will receive it... I'm so excited!
It also the only CGM that has automatic meal detection, which allows it to dose extra large doses of insulin if you forget to bolus during a meal or if you underestimate the carbs in your meal.

Do you know whether Insurance like Medicare Advantage plans will fully cover this. One of the main reasons I switched back to Dexcom G7 sensors was that in addition to shorter wear times the The guardian 4's were costing me $75 per month vs. $0 from Libra and Dexcom.

The 780g G4 sensors have so many problems. Mine have never lasted 7 days and application is so difficult.

I have been hoping that there’s a better way to insert a sencer, Hopefully it will be available soon

I will be excited to use this sensor if it can be used instead of the Guardian 4 sensor together with my 780g pump.
Unfortunately I haven’t heard that.

Be interested to know which Android phones are compatible with the app. The G6 isn't compatible with all phones including the newest Samsung s23

Here's hoping they improve on the lifespan this time. I've been using Guardian 3 for years and just now changed to the 4, but still haven't had a sensor last more than 3-4 days at a time. At least with Libre every single sensor I ever used lasted the full 14 days right down to the minute.

Hey.
I think it is exciting. I'm trying the new CGM simplera very soon. I already have the Medtronic380 and Dexcom G7. So I have to get the medtronic780G instead, for it to communicate with the Simplera. I never tried to have this kind of diabetissurvelillance. I'm excitet😀
