Works for me!! I used this to refill a Red Lobster dispenser. You have to make sure that the plastic cap melts somewhat from the hot water (making it pliable and easier to remove from the bottle). This was my second time refilling the bottle. It takes some strength to remove the plastic cap from the bottle; I had a note from the first time to use one of those thin plastic bottle opener assistants (can be bought anywhere that sells kitchen utensils that help remove stubborn tight jar lids), but I just had better luck grabbing the jar in one hand and the plastic "lid" in the other with a dishtowel, just trying to make it not slip. Just twist the plastic around until it pops of the glass jar. Voila! Second time filling the dispenser! PS - just make sure to try to use as much of the peppercorns in the dispenser as you can because what's left will get wet and messy. Maybe you can save and dry them but I just waited till I used almost all of them.

I have been trying to remove the cap for DAYS! Thank you - you saved me from myself. So here’s what you should not do - use plyers, put cap in a vise, jam a screwdriver between the glass and the plastic, use a razor blade to cut the white top, hit the plastic top with a hammer, use a saw blade to slice the top, grab an electric grinder (but then come to your senses and don’t use an electric grinder)!
