Walking after meals feels amazing, gets the wiggles out, helps prevent "witching hour" but its also so good for YOU and your kiddos!

5 reasons to not skip a nightly walk with your kids, put those tennis shows on and get moving after dinner!

1- Blood sugar regulation = a 2018 study studied how a walk's timing affects postprandial blood glucose, or post-meal blood sugar levels. They found that a short walk after a meal lowers blood glucose levels more than walks done before a mean. Regulated glucose = no glucose spike = no sugar crash later! = more stable behavior in your kiddos. because they won't have those highs and lows = its best to start walking as soon as possible after finishing a meal since blood sugar levels tend to spike between 60 and 90 minutes after eating.

2- Everyone wants their kiddos to sleep better and serotonin is a precursor to melatonin and walking boosts serotonin productions + burn energy and help them feel tired and ready to sleep! (and watch the sunset)

3- Walking reduced stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline and increase "good mood" hormones like serotonin and oxytocin, as well as endorphins = a natural mood stabilizer for your kiddos! Kids mental health suffered so much in recent years so focusing on a simple routine that can improve that is huge!

4- Digestion = walking after a team will stimulate the stomach and intestines which will help break down and move food more quickly as well as help reduce bloating, tummy troubles, constipation and improve gut health!

5- Reduced blood pressure and heart disease = a healthy habit to start young and continue through their lives.

Of course there are so many moire than 5 reasons to put those tennis shoes on and walk with your kids like = cutting obesity promoting genes in HALF, increasing blood flow (better blood flow = better brain function), sunshine benefits, and boosting the immune system (hello school year and ALL the germs!)
