Not so much a shootout, but will a 1960's mono Revolver from Capitol serve as a good substitute for a newer 2014 mono version?

I was looking trough the new arrivals bin at my local record store and I found a brizilian MONO pressing for 22 dollar with all 14 tracks a bit hard to come by but it has pretty nice sound quality.

1966 no fancy hi fi radiograms or case record players.

Mono rules for this album for a lot of reasons, the biggest one being "Tomorrow Never Knows." Ditto "Pepper."

A 1969 two box Parlophone mono pressing shouldn't cost much more than an American one and sounds way better.

Revolver isn’t Revolver without those songs…. I’m not really sure what it is? 😂

The Beatles and their production team intended us to listen to all their work through 1967 (that includes Sgt Pepper) in mono…what else do you need to know?

I own three different copies of Revolver! I own a UK Mono 1st pressing with -2, -2 matrices, I have a US 1st Stereo Pitman pressing, and a 1st Stereo Venezuelan copy that uses the Parlophone UK Stereo metal work. Out of them I do have to say the UK Mono beats them, but between the two stereos, the US version actually sounds better to me, because I think it has more punch which really helps on songs like Taxman and She Said She Said.

When it comes to Beatles albums, and a few other bands from the 60s, the mono versions can be uniquely different, and sometimes better than the stereo version. I like bot versions of Revolver, but I gravitate towards the stereo version a bit more.
