Portugal NHR - Non Habitual Residence - is the system established by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) that allows people who have not been established within the country for at least 183 days to be treated as non-resident taxpayers. This is an opportunity for them to obtain a tax residence permit if they intend to reside in Portugal for more than 12 months.
