They earn alot more than that. My old friend was earning 60k on the north sea rigs, for 6 months work. That was 25 years ago. That is the equivalent of about 100k-110k now

How to make sure your rig is always surrounded by sharks. Condition the fish to frenzy at the same time and you also condition the sharks. Drilling tailings and lubricants contaminate the areas where they are dumped.

Lowest paid job offshore in Norway is 72k (food catering) a year. I’m a mechanic and I make 94-98k a year. We work 2 weeks on ( 12-14h shifts ) and 4 weeks off.

My dad worked for North Sea gas in the late 80s to 90s back then he was on over 60k year, was on the rigs for 3-4 months, back for 2 weeks then back out again. He was a qualified diver and undersea welder as well. During growing up I barely saw him, he missed birthdays, chritsmas, Easter etc. eventually my mother divorced him and he was forced to leave the job behind.

This guy needs to do his research. Starting pay is closer to $70K-$80K a year depending on your job. Best decision I ever made.
