I found your videos a couple of days ago and I am really liking the way you explain things. You are a natural teacher!
I’m the kind of person who goes all in for a certain period to the point of burning out myself and then I give up for a while until I go back. 3 years ago I set a goal to start running so that I get healthier and ended up training properly and ran my first marathon! After that I completely stopped for a while and gained weight so I set a new goal to get ripped within 8 months for the next summer which I managed to lose 30kg and be in the best shape of my life… until life got in the way and I lost my way again.
Same thing with Japanese. I studied intensively for 6-7 months during covid as I had a lot of time staying at home but after a while doing Anki reps was a chore and I ended up giving up. I am going back to studying occasionally (mostly immersing in the evenings watching some dramas) but never with a structured plan. I feel bad that I’ve memorized something like 2.5-3K words and not continuing but I can’t seem to put my life in order as having a demanding job and 3 kids makes it really tough.

Great video! All of the things you mentioned are also applicable in day to day life 🙂

As long as you don't become I have been learning Japanese for 5 years and then introduce yourself to new people as "私のお名前カミサマです。どうぞよろしくお願いします。I stopped being amazed by people not learning a language when talking to fellow Americans that live decades in South America and can barely say anything in Spanish. Being a English speaker these day is easy mode setting in life RPG.
