How Many Keywords Can A Single Page Rank For? (And How to Do Keyword Research)

How many keywords do you think you can put on a single page? The answer is hundreds if not thousands.

But you are not going to be writing or creating pages based on 100 keywords. Instead, you are going to be creating pages around a group of terms or a topic.

Let's say you are trying to write a page on auto insurance. You may have 2 or 3 main keywords you are targeting, such as "car insurance and auto insurance", but you will naturally include hundreds of others.

Assuming you are creating a thorough page with thousands of words, you will naturally discuss everything under that topic.

For example, if you wrote on auto insurance, you may compare providers like Geico or you may take about insurance terms and how to get a deal. The possibilities are endless.

Although you can rank for hundreds of keywords, focus just on a handful and you will naturally include the others.

Yeah, it really is. Whenever I finished writing a post about a specific topic (like as you said focusing on a few main keywords), I go back to the keyword research tool and bam, lots of long tail keywords are matching with my content in oblivion!

Hey Neil thanks for the great videos. I am creating a website with thousands of photos with not many keywords. I know file name and alt text are important for SEO. I dont know how I should name photos and fill out alt text without keyword stuffing. Should I name each file differently like 1st. tent poles 2nd. poles for tents 3rd. poles for your tent. or when needed can i name them tent poles(1), tent poles(2), tent poles(3) ? The same with alt text. Can/should your file name be the same as your alt text. I am stuck trying to figure out how to approach this.
