I don't understand how people don't get this . Elon musk's perspective is understandable and the video explains it really well . When you think about 100 years In the future, if you're a optimistic, you think about flying ships, cars and life on other planets, well for that to happen someone has to research it ("it is not automatic") . Elon wanted to be the one to push that technology to higher places and not let exploration stay on the history books . Now you guys get it, he is not trying to leave the Earth and do nothing about the problems we have . Besides, he is helping out a lot already with Tesla for example . So much for someone who doesn't care about the world now.
And we are always going to have problems, if we stopped researching everything else that "didn't matter" we would still be living under a rock

Just because he uses the name of Tesla doesn't mean he is Tesla. There are way more timelines than two. He shows you disaster or him. He even says that the limited technology that we have now is all there is....just don't be too quick to elevate this man as a savior... don't jump from one cage to another one. A cage is a cage even if one has a great menu and room service.
