There's a video from a few years back actually that shows what they do before the race and they usually run back to the garage after they clear the grid in order to be ready for any pit stop or in this case to receive the car

I didn't interpret them as running to check if Checo was OK, I interpreted it as an opportunity to look at the underside or whatever of Checo's car were it to be lifted by a crane, like in 2023
