why your portrait painting fails?

In this video I am drawing a portrait from life. The technique I am using today is called ' Alla prima '. I have also shared some tips tricks and techniques to draw from life and how to avoid some common mistakes that beginners generally do. Today I am painting with oils on canvas. You will understand why 90% fail to do live portrait ....only reason is lack of drawing skills....not focusing on drawing and over focusing on other areas....

One of the most important this is to understand that in order to paint a portrait with oil or acrylic or watercolour, we need to first focus of how to draw the head, how to draw the face properly. How to construct the face. Only after that we can add paint .To draw or paint any face we need to focus upon the initial lines and placement of facial features.
