I have been on the real estate side, and found its not my passion. Me and my wife regrouped and re-organized our business strategy to include weddings. I'm on the video side and my wife is on the photography side. I want to provide more of a meaning then just job or a task. We are now setup to be traveling wedding photographers and videographers and are in the process of learning live streams for elopements and destination weddings.

Love this. Also there are subniches within the wedding photography genre so there is a lot more variety than people think. Want to do elopements and small weddings? There is a subniche for that. Want to do travel or destination and adventure elopements? There is a subniche for that. Want to specialize in large indian weddings? There is a subniche for that. If you love shooting more traditional church weddings there is a subniche for that too. Everyone who wants to shoot weddings can figure out which subniches and styles will work out for them and their personality and build their brand around that.

Hey John, I wanted to reach out to you to say a heart felt thank you so I went to your website. It didn't feel right to reach out via the process for booking you so, I thought I'd try to connect via YouTube since that is how I found you. I am not a wedding photographer. I shoot sports. But, a person with whom I collaborate reached out because his son was getting married. They were having trouble finding a photographer and he wanted to know if I would shoot the event. I said "no" and keep looking, but, if you really can't find a photographer, I'd do it. I watched a number of your videos in prep. I put together a schedule and shot list. I met with the couple and toured the venue together to discuss how we should approach the day. I got to the venue on the day of the wedding a little early and then waited. The bride was an hour and a half late. I scrambled to get at least some of the pre-ceremony shots. I kept saying to myself, don't worry, this isn't your day ... do the best you can to make the day great. They don't need to worry about you as well. Bottom line, they got married. I got some shots I think they will like ... maybe cherish. And, I know I wouldn't have done as well as I did without getting tips from you. You are a very effective teacher.
