Someone asks if I had any tips for taller skaters. I felt like I should've covered this a long time ago. Here are three of the ways I deal with being taller than the average skater. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!

Im 5'4" and 135 lb. Not sure why I'm watching this video, but it was interesting to hear what skating is like for taller people!

6’2” 175 and 41. Height has always been a challenge. Training core, legs, and yoga has kept me rolling for sure. Thanks for this video! 👊🏻

Great tip again Norman.
I'm 38, 6.2 feet tall and 170lbs, I came back to skateboarding again after almost 10 years away.
I've noticed that bending lower before the pop and keeping them bent in the air until landing makes many of my tricks more precise, stable and safer on ledges, rails and down stairs.
The lower I keep the center of my weight the easier and safer everything gets.
I have very springy legs that allow me to pop high yet they are coming straight very fast or flick too early.
Also I'd mention that taller people often have incorrect posture because how we are looking down on the board.
I have this issue and I've noticed that when I strengthen my back my pop gets much better, maybe that way straight spine is absorbing less of the upward momentum when I'm jumping.
Thanks again, I hope these comments can help.

6’2” - 180, I’m really appreciative of this video brother! Can’t wait to get back home from this Xmas break to get back on the board!

6’7 225lbs here. I love to watch Brian Anderson, Caleb Barnett & Kevin White, they inspired me so much.

My setup is a 9” popsicle (15” wb), tight trucks with super hard bushings.

2 years in skating and started watchibg your videos when i began. In so much better of a skater specifically because what you said about popping, and i tell myself to pop sooner so that im crouched and not stiff or straight legged

I am 6 foot. Thanks for this Norman. Can’t wait to get back on the board tomorrow! I also need to bend my knees more. That is a habit I need to work on more.

Coming back to comment since I watched when the video released. This is probably the most helpful singular video I've watched so far. I'm 6ft and remembering to keep my center of gravity low and knees (extra) bent has been a game changer. I already knew that I guess, but I didn't think of it as something I had to do extra for my height.

Skating during christmas feels super! I like Norman's style, it's mature and enforces discipline on top of that wooden board with wheels.

Being 6 ft and Cali average/ mediocre at skating my friends have always pointed out to bend my knees more. It feels really un natural though, like it’s not necessary. But I’m learning to squat down a lot more. Also skating a size 9 is golden, recommend. Treflips are a nightmare but it makes skating flowier

Great tips, Norman!! Tighter trucks are definitely the way to go for me.

I'm 46 and 6'4", 200 lbs. Skateboarding single-handedly taught me to walk again after I got out of the hospital 2½ yrs ago. I'd just go out on the sidewalk, put one foot on it, and kinda using it as a moving crutch. This helped rebuild my strength, and eventually recovered my proprioception back in my lower legs (with a lil limitation). I still suck but that's not the point for me; I'm not trying to do anything super. I enjoy the liberation I feel cruising down the street, doing lil ollies up curbs n sh¡t lol.

I also like using hard bushings:(black - super hard Doh-dohs) or Bones (hard), or Mini-logo reds (hard) depending on the trucks. These helped tremendously for me!

Let's get it y'all! 🛹
