Voddie Baucham: Do Not Love the World

First John 2:15–17 commands us not to love the world or the things of the world. Setting our hearts on the world is incompatible with love for God. In this message, Dr. Voddie Baucham reminds us of our call to stand against the world when we are called to compromise and considers how we may do this by developing a Christian worldview, recognizing the errors of worldly philosophies, and committing ourselves to the community of believers in the church.

Thank you for this sermon. And reminding me that I constantly need to examine my heart, to be sure that I'm not indulging in the sinful nature of the world. I certainly don't love the beast system, and I'm sure many of us don't, but there is still danger because we can succumb to our fleshly desires.

Lord God Almighty,

Help us not to worship idols.

Help us to see clearly the sin of the world so that we will not give in to the temptations.
