Just what I needed to win the war on my scraps! Actually, there are TWO wars: The first is with the scraps themselves and the second is with all those naysayers who question my sanity for saving all those "useless little pieces!" Let the vindication begin! Thank you, Donna and team!!!😊

Your clear explanation during your tutorials are what all content creators should strive for. I am the “why” learner and it’s easier for me to understand if I know why a certain step or process is recommended or required. You are a true educator and I just love your channel. Thank you! Side note… I’ll be attending the International Quilt Festival in Houston in November and hope you’ll be vending. Would love to say hello 👏👋

My mom was a child of the Depression and never threw anything away. The quilts she made in her later years when she wasn’t so busy raising children are intricate works of art beautiful my favorites are the scrappy quilts she pieced using triangles cut from the newspaper as foundations. The last strips added to the large end of the triangles were the same color as were the filler pieces. I inherited her huge fabric stash which included several large boxes full of small pieces of fabric which were labeled Little Jibbles!

My grandma always told me to use Sears catalog paper to make a perfect quilt square. It looks like that's what you've done thank you so much it is so beautiful

I just love scrappy quilts! After all, that was the original idea behind patchwork in the first place---waste not, want not. This looks fun and easy to make. Thanks, Donna. More scrappy ideas and inspirations, please!

I think Donna is the best teacher, she is so easy to follow, I've learnt a lot from these videos.

Donna:

You often call a quilt “happy, ” and that’s exactly what I see with this one. You’ve worked in my favorite color ranges which probably adds to my reaction. The warm colors don’t speak to me so much but it was wonderful to see the odd sizes and shapes you used on that sample. Such a delightful and open ended project you’ve shared this time. I can imagine placements and table runners and small wall hangings dancing in viewers’ imaginations. The structure of the strong parallel lines allow for so much freedom within. Well done, you!!!

Love! I'm gonna need this before the end of the year.
2023 Goal is to work through my fabric stash because
2024 Goal will be to declutter what's left.

Perfect timing for me! We had over 40 inches of snow a couple weeks ago and no power but I wanted to be in my sewing room so I finally sorted through all my fabric scraps so I am ready to go now thanks to this video!! I so enjoy all of your videos, thank you!

Ingenious Donna! I love that this could take a seasonal theme too, using up scraps from our holiday projects. 😊❤

Thank you for a great project! You guys are the best: a fabric store that gives us a scrap project?!!! You’re so kind, that’s why we keep coming back.
All the best!

A good friend of mine has just finished her blocks for this quilt and we FaceTimed so I could see her layout! It might be a lattice layout but if you look closely, it’s also Xs and Os! She has me really jazzed up with her quilt and I just watched Donna so her, so I understand how to mark the paper! I do love FPP and thus fits the bill! Now to chop up a few scraps to get them a little smaller to fit better!!! Thanks Donna!!!

What a fun quilt! I love this. I've been working out of my scrap bin for several days now making all kinds of small projects but this video gives me hope of really getting after a lot more of the scraps at one time. Thank you for another great tutorial and idea Donna. As always you make quilting so much fun showing us how to make all the different patterns and techniques. I do so appreciate your very clear and concise instructions. You are always my "Go To" person for the next quilt I make. "Happy Quilting!" ❤👍🌻

Thank you for showing everyone how to use up left overs. Nowadays I save all my left overs as strips as I enjoy making strip quilts rather than those pesky mini charm size pieces . The 2 borders just finish it off perfectly and actually if you chose those first it helps you narrow down the colour range of strips to chose. Perfect for our charity quilts so thank you again.

So glad to see a scrap project. 😍 I would love more of those. Scraps are everywhere and never ending, but I like working with them, so I love scrap inspiration. ❤

This is perfect and timely! I've started a business with the resultant long hours and I thought I'd have to leave sewing behind for awhile. 🎉 This is perfect for any day when I have a little time and no worries about keeping a complicated pattern clear in my mind. I can make 1 or 2 blocks and move on. I'd love more scrappy quilt bock patterns! Thanks, Donna!

I've been doing string quilts much like the one you've done only using long pieces of muslin to sew the scrap strings to. I then add my corner triangles and trim to square up. I like using the muslin as a background to sew to as I can then take my sewing along tucked into a bag. I save any scarp that's 4 inches long and an 1 1/2 wide to do these quilts. Scraps are so much fun to work with.
