Arkhangelsk is a port city in Russia with an interesting history and geography. With the white sea being frozen 6 months each year the geography has created a unique blend of circumstances and history for this place in Northern Russia.

Just below the arctic circle in the north of Western Russia is the city of Arkhangelsk. It lies on the banks of the Northern Dvina river near its exit into the White Sea.
It is 1200km north of Moscow and Finland is the closest neighbouring country the borders of which are a similar distance away in the west.
In recent history the city is considered to be deeply connected with sea trade as Russia's Chief Medieval trading port.

It was Founded in 1584, and was the first in the Russian Empire to conduct trade with England and other countries reaching its peak productivity in the 17th century.
But while trade had always brought prosperity to the region it was not always coming from the sea.

I visited this city before and how much I loved it, beautiful and very kind people this was the most what captures me, it has very special streets especially the wood houses its amazing, its rich of history and culture and the landscapes are so impressive, I can't forget my first night when my brain confused with time 11pm and it still daylight, i had very beautiful memories there it was very special 2 weeks in this city, also not forget Novodvinsk and Severodvinsk, I became emotional when I remembered it, I wish one-day I came back there
