When done right, red wine braised short ribs can be as delicious as anything. But don’t be fooled into thinking there is some fancy technique behind it. It's actually very, very simple. The technique is called, “braising”, and it’s a technique that can be applied to any tough cut of meat. So pay close attention…if you can tackle this, a world of opportunity opens up in your kitchen. Plus, once you learn this, you could make the Short Rib Grilled Cheese from my food truck that was designed to not be so easy to make at home.

i must ditto what Justin just said. i'm 66, been cooking all of my life, rarely eat out anymore, have owned 3 restaurants and cooked in many more. let me say, we, y'all are lucky to have this channel and this guy to learn from. he knows what he's talking about without any attitude. his instruction is succinct and he keeps it simple, explanations are great. he's focused and his intent, to teach you and help you, is obvious and greatly appreciated by me who also loves to teach! For anyone really wanting to know. This is the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. Also, I have watched and made every single Gordon Ramsey dish on youtube and eventually you run out and need to find someone else to learn from. I have found a few here and there that were just eh, but when I found this channel and tried some of the dishes I new this guy was legit. The Penne ala Vodka is to die for and I am making philly cheesesteaks today. Keep em coming dude. Awesome work!

I would qualify myself as a PRETTY qualified at home chef. With that said, there are 2 recipes that have made my husband say "Oh my god, this is so good." This is one of those recipes. Thank you for not only this recipe but the knowledge that inspired research around browning/braising/etc. You rock!

making this tonight! i found your channel on monday and this is the third recipe i’m making this week! i made the roasted summer tomato sauce, weekday sauce with meatballs last night was AMAZING! the meatballs just melted in your mouth. my husband loved the sauce, he said don’t try to give him jar sauce ever again lol. my short ribs are in the oven now and smell delicious! i really love your channel and i appreciate the time you put into your content. i’m not a huge cooker lately (39 weeks pregnant), but you’ve really inspired me to cook again. i love that your recipes aren’t just recipes you educate us on why you’re doing things the way that you’re doing it, or why it’s important to use specific ingredients. thank you and can’t wait to try the rest of your recipes!

This recipe is the TRUTH! Incredibly flavorful, and the ribs literally fell off the bone. I used an Instant Pot, and the taste was just as if I had it in the oven for hours. My husband was a very happy man with this dinner. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us.

Ok. Thank you. This was delish! Made it today and only one misstep --I threw in the reserved drippings from the frying before putting it in the oven - I don't know what I was thinking. I had more oil to scoop off the top and the consistency of the sauce was a bit thicker but no problem. I also decided to let it sleep overnight so I will make the potatoes tomorrow instead. Thanks again.

I made this last night for a farewell dinner for a friend....Everyone was in awe!!! I have to say it’s probably the best thing I have ever made, including your mash potatoes. Such an easy relaxing recipe and the flavors were out of this world. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

When my sister made this for us at the restaurant it was one of the best meal i've ever had. amazing flavors, then she makes it now for me on my birthday. she makes it with parsnip and i love it! Now my sister is not near by. love this video so simply explained.

Oh my gosh, it's miraculous that no one has disliked the video this I'm really impressed with the scientific vocabulary that you used in this video. Osmosis is the correct term! Could you perhaps do more videos like this where the leftovers can be created into another completely different dish?

I love braised short ribs too. When my mom was alive, I would drive all day from Michigan to Delaware think all the way there about the short ribs my mom prepared just for me. LOL! Thank you for the recipe.

Made this for me and my girl yesterday and it came out fantastic. For sure one of the best things I’ve made. Really appreciate your content. I like that a lot of your videos are centered on teaching techniques and not just recipes. I’m not an experienced cook, but I’ve realized very quickly that learning techniques is much more important than learning recipes.
