Tamil Nadu BJP chief K. Annamalai staged a massive protest in Chennai on Tuesday as the state government has not yet reduced fuel & gas prices following the Centre's decision to slash excise duty on petrol and diesel. “We are asking the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu why he has not done what he promised in the election manifesto,” said Annamalai. The Tamil Nadu government’s VAT is higher than the Excise Duty imposed by the Central government. He further said, ‘’We are only asking him to do what he promised in the manifesto. People are watching you. The DMK government has continued its unjustified activities and held its prestige over the state and its subject's interests.’’
