Let's stop racing toward antibiotic armageddon! If you order an unnecessary urinalysis and unnecessary urine culture for patients with no symptoms of a UTI, you will end up overtreating patients who don't actually have a UTI. Remember, not every bacteriuria is a urinary tract infection (UTI).

If you want to learn how to recognize life-threatening infections like sepsis and CNS infections as early as possible, I highly recommend you take my free online course!

I have disabling UTI symptoms but can’t get antibiotics from sadistic nhs GP (she’s german, is that why?) there are millions of us with embedded chronic UTIs due to biofilms and they are false negative on the not-fit-for-purpose UTI dipstick and cultures (this has been known for decades, v high level of inaccuracy when tested. Oh and I want to try for a baby (v late for me) but due to the bladder pain I can’t even have sex. My GP is truly demonic.
