HI Guys, I live in Sweden and by tradition wooden handles are often used in Swedish knife making. Often linen-oil is used to protect the handle. This oils sinks into the wood. If you instead use anti-wax in german or beeswax you get a bit sticky surface and a much better grip. I have a Fällkniven Jarl and a couple Pucks which I find to have too slippery handles. For those I use beeswax.

Raw Salmon can carry parasites and most commonly tapeworms. So you should cook it in the wild if you have the opportunity

So ive been dabbling in rehandling some of my knives over to nice wood, etc, to improve upon some of my knives. As i progressed i relized i could track down just the blades of some knives, order them hardened/sharpened, then finish them to my liking. I came across the bigmuk blade, and immediately started to look for the blade review. First stop was here of course, and thankfully you guys did this vid. Then find out the only downside was the slippery handle, such a win in my eyes. To get the blade discounted, hear its a great choice, then knowing i can complete the rest to my own vision of perfection for it. Looking forward to the project as the blade reaches me today. So just a huge thank you from over the pond fellas, keep up the great content!!!

A tip for slippery handles is to spend the morning eating honey with your hand out of a beehive like a bear and then when you go pick up your knife, bam, plenty sticky

I think I'd still go for the Skrama for the grip. It would be safer in a humid environment like where I live.

I have from Brisa the Nessmuk 125, Kephart 115 and Trapper. I looove those knifes! Strong functional knifes with absolut perfect it and finish. And a good price point.

They need some nice hand-cut checkering easy done on a jig or CNC carved on computer operated machines.
Like an old revolver handle it keeps the beauty and character/characteristics of the wood while adding grip.

I look forward to Thursdays and the new DBK video. Looks like a really good knife though teh Skarma as a less refined less expensive option is almost as good of a user but with a lesser fit and finish. Thanks guys great and entertaining as always.

I like how Maartin uses his words with Mikkie. “ Oh, You are making me angry.” Nice. 😅

I've been looking at this for a while. Might pick up the blade blank and handle it myself with something grippy 👌
