This shows how much of a disconnect there is between a CEO and a front line worker.

Give this guy a White Castle franchise!

Someone needs to start a petition to get Joe his own franchise. That man deserves it. He's a 5 star employee and doesn't deserve to be stuck on a drive thru.

I nearly lost it at 4:38 when Joe spoke to his son. Just a hard-working, loving father, who has the best interests of his family in mind. Mad respect.

That dude deserves more than $5k. He's the heart and soul of the company.

Best part is how after experiencing for himself how stressful, chaotic, and frustrating working in a fast food restaurant can be, he chose NOT to increase his company's wages across the board or take steps towards improving working conditions, but instead gave one guy a one-time payment of $5000 as if it was something that was going to last beyond a few months.

“You picked a bad shift for a first night”

I hope more customers told him something like this. Rude customers aren’t worth minimum wage. The job sucks and the customers don’t help. It’s time the employer does.

Every restaurant and store has people like Joe who work 10x as hard as even their superiors but didn’t have the opportunities they had.

When he said he didn't think those opportunities would come at White Castle, he was right. It was Undercover Boss that gave him that opportunity, not White Castle.

What kind and gentle spirit this man has. He honestly deserves more than $5000 and participation in their new project. Fast track this guy and make him manager and move him up quick. Then help him get a franchise. White castle dropped the ball on this one. I hope they read these comments and do right by this man.

He deserves WAY more than 5, 000 and that “promotion” he deserves to be in customer outreach. Teaching how to be a good leader in fast food and how to communicate and stuff in higher up capacity. More than just helping with a class or two.

Joe is a better person than I’ll ever be! To only offer him 5k after all the hard work that he puts in and you know he has a child with special needs is a slap in the face!! I hope that he’s being compensated heavily to write this curriculum

“Buddy, we goin to the toy store!”

I lost it. God, help this man and his family in this new journey. He's such a kind, loving, caring soul.

This dude Joe deserves a raise more than anyone I've seen doing anything in ages. This guy is the coolest. Laid back and friendly demeanor, explaining casually how he instills the sense that "I'm here for you" to the customers, working super hard and still being super upbeat and friendly. Not only that but he's a good dad, taking care of his visually-impaired son, explaining how he talks to him constantly to stimulate his mind, describing entire Interiors in detail.
What a phenominal dude. Folks like Joe should be running things. And I don't mean at White Castle, I mean in government, honestly.

Wow that’s it $5, 000??? He deserves a lot more than that. I hope other CEOs see this and offers him a better job with a huge raise.

Hopefully this is a promotion for Joe. He needs to be above store management, cooperate trainer of somekind. His attitude and ability to recognize the situation he works in could have so much potential, especially since customer service seems to be gone.

They gave my guy 5K. They should have made him a regional manager and paid for his business degree, annd a raise whule he's earning the degree. This was a pretty lackluster reward.
