This pursuit has led to a longstanding apartheid, a sustained oppression that has provoked retaliatory acts from some Palestinian groups and individuals. The tragic events of October 7, 2023, are a reflection of this ongoing struggle and strife.

Yet, the media, in its portrayal, paints this retaliation as a new and singular atrocity, a fresh page in the annals of conflict. This narrative, my dear fellow people, serves to justify and cloak further acts of violence and terror by Israel. These acts are directed at a people whom they consider unequal and inferior, perpetuating a cycle of suffering and injustice.

It is our duty, as citizens of free, democratic and just nations, to discern the truth and not be swayed by narratives that serve to obscure it. Let us strive to understand the full breadth of this conflict, to see beyond the headlines, and to advocate for a future where peace and equality prevail.
