Why do Ukrainians STRUGGLE to recognize "return" does not translate into "RECLAIM" in English?

I often tell Anna this, but either she disregards my help, or she's not seeing my advice where I tell her
_"Anna, please stop saying Ukraine will return stolen territories..."_

Now I see that even this fluent English-speaking Ukrainian, miss Yeulia ALSO says "return", [rather than saying] *"RECLAIM".*

Does the Ukranian language not have an accurate translation for the word "RECLAIM"?
Is their closest equivalent the word "return"?
