Today's Thursday Tech Tips video is '3 sneaky looper pedal tips to improve your looping shows' and I SERIOUSLY hope you spend a bit of time on these. They will massively help your live shows - and hopefully inspire some more creativity about how you can build your loops (either at home or for shows and gigs).

I know I know... for those of you that follow me this is being uploaded on a Monday... I had some issues with editing software hence the delay.

Anyway, let me know which loop pedal you're using and whether these tips are something you do anyway, or if you learnt something new on how to use a loop pedal.

I'll be back this Thursday with another vid!

--also thanks - forgot to write that the iphone app I use for my loops is iMaschine 2.

David you are a "real" musician who is prepared to share your fabulous music and tips. Whenever I need to feel happy I play your version of Englishman In New York. Wonderful. Just keep playing, and keep sharing, we are here waiting to be taken on a magical musical tour.

You’re really good at what you do. You never have to apologise either in a demo or a gig. Love your voice, your kindness and you gift for teaching. Keep it up 👍

Everything is great about your video: the looping ideas, your personality, guitar playing and vocals. And the spontaneity as well. Had to hit subscribe.

Hey David, great tricks! I like how you have really kept the musicality in your approach to looping. You’re clearly a great producer, thanks for sharing the ideas, I’ll definitely be using these in my sets...

Thanks so much for this. It really helps; there's not much info out there about how to actually do the looping. Thank you!

These 3 tips are priceless in avoiding monotonous loops and are exactly why you are my go-to channel to learn looping. I performed in bands and as a solo with MIDI tracks I created for over 3 decades. I am now interested in playing as an acoustic solo with a looper. Your channel has been an awesome resource for me. Many thanks...you are the best!

Great tips, I'm just beginning at this with an rc 300, I like it a lot and I couldn't agree more with you! I have watched too many people that think they have to add everything they have to the loop and as it comes in it sounds enchanting but after about 30 seconds it just sounds irritating. So, that's what I want to learn is how less is more, the basic lay down to play through out and what to add and delete and redo as you go through.
Thanks again.

Amazing tutorial man! I just now, after about 15 years of playing picked up a looper to add a bit to my bedroom playing. Great video!

The playing had EVERYTHING to do with the tutorial. You would be great without the looper, but you are greater still with it. I have looped for years and yes I use the dickens out of recording first verse while singing and it is ready for my solo....which is to break up looper numbing. I really like your stop before chorus. I also love your voice, song choice, guitar choice, guitar playing and treatment of each song. Yes these are somebody else's songs but you make them your signature version. I have always wanted a way to do free falling because it get's requested sooo much. I think I am going to borrow liberally that version. Thanks for being a real player and sharing your time and talents. Cheers!

Gotta hear more of you, ...unique vocal tone, and superb playing....and oh yes, great looping tips! Inspiring, thank you! If you were local my wife and I would escape to your gigs for “peace of mind.”
Know that each performance you give is an unwrapping of your gift for all to enjoy. Wish you the best success. Thanx again.

Nice, practical and musical tips! The most important takeaway for me is to not bore the crap out of your audience while you're building tracks but arrange it so that it's musical from the start. Adding stops is another great tip. My tendency is to play full songs and then noodle on them but hopefully the picking/chording of the song is interesting enough to listen too.
