Fun fact: The Suez Canal wasnt the first canal between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, ancient Egypt dug out a canal between Suez and the Nile known as the Canal of the Pharaohs, which was the inspiration for the canal. First found by Napoleon after ancient rumors about it.

The story about the ships that were stucked in that canal for 8 years is actually a fantastic story. I recommend learning about it.

Fun Fact: The Canadian guy’s name was Lester B. Pearson. He won a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in resolving the crisis in 1957 and was the Prime Minister of Canada from 1963-1968. He was also the person who introduced the Canadian flag as we know it today, and rolled out universal healthcare nationwide, among other things.

Put some god damn respect on the man’s name.
