An Australian hiker was killed by a fallen tree on a strenuous trail at Yosemite National Park last week, officials said.
The 22-year-old man, identified by the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office as Harry Partington, was crushed by the tree on Oct. 8 on the Four Mile Trail. Partington was on the trail around 2:30 p.m. when the tree fell, Scott Gediman, a spokesperson for the park, told SFGATE.
Another person was injured and received medical treatment, but their condition is unknown. The other hiker was reportedly a woman from Germany who was not walking with Partington and was hoisted by a helicopter, the Union Democrat reported.
