No; new cars are not designed to go 1M kilometers. they are deigned to break or become too expensive to maintain after a certain period. or mileage, also are we gonna ignore the Jeep right up against the Corrolla?

The little Ford is a testament to how good some pre 2010 Fords were. A modern Mercedes will battle to do 200 000 without major problems. Most German cars too. BMW has improved with the B series engines and some of the diesels are pretty strong. VW other than the basic 1.4 and 1.6 Polos are garbage. If you want something that will last, Japanese and to a lesser extent Korean.
