Sorry for the re-upload, the first went up by accident!

Its funny, I told my friend ERA Films who makes videos of trains about, "the Minecraft guy I watch who also makes vlogs." I showed him a few clips from one of your vlogs and the first thing he said was, "nice color grading!" ;)

So up until this point I had absolutely no idea what sort of editing went into real-life videos. Thank you very much for making this video! Really makes me appreciate what you're doing.

Brilliant video, it’s people like you that elevate YouTube. So many youtubers will just blow a couple of grand on a dslr and never take it off auto. Really refreshing to know some people out there still care.

I have downloaded Resolve a couple of months ago, but I kinda gave up because it is very complicated and I didn't know how to export it. Seeing this gives me new hope and inspiration to start the program up again and learn how it works. Thanks a lot for all the inspiration on both of your channels Mumbo, I appreciate it :)

My gosh man so much editing for such small things that people barely notice. I really like this and every time I see a video like this I get more interested in video stuff :D

Ahhh fascinating. Color grading is something I've suddenly become very aware of in the past few years and I LOVE the way it can add moods and make things look way more cinematic.

a tiny bit of critique for you..
not in coloring, I’m no colorist!
but in your video! I think you should put some quiet music of your liking in the background. for tutorials like these, a lot of people might find it hard to focus as they have no idea what you’re talking about. I’ve personally noticed that for tutorials, the ones with no music have less views and positive feedback than ones with music in them! (I’m working on this sort of thing myself lol)
video was awesome, just thought I’d mention that!

If you grade a lot of log you should checkout the ACES color space within Resolve, recently experimented with this myself & was amazed with what it does. Essentially it converts any log profile standard (Such as S-Log and alike) into an industy standard color science. Just remember to set the output color gamut to what you are producing (Rec709).

(Project settings, Color Management, set colorspace to ACEScct, change ACES Input to whichever LOG you were using (you can also right click on clips in timeline to change just a few clips), change ACES Output to Rec709, and voila)
