In this video, we’ll go through steps on how to sell t-shirts online.
1. Find your niche
You need to answer an important question: who are you selling your t-shirts to?
If your answer is “everyone,” you’re in trouble. Everyone can wear a t-shirt, that’s true! But not everyone will like the same t-shirt design. Find your niche and do some research to make sure the market isn’t too crowded.
2. Create a POD account and set up an online store
Once you’ve defined your target market and product niche, it’s time to set up your store. Sign up and create an account with Printful first. Then, add an online platform.
3. Which t-shirt model should you choose?
How to choose a t-shirt model when there are so many, and for some of them the only difference seems to be the price? I suggest you don't give in to the temptation to only choose shirts based on their price, but rather focus on what you’re looking for in a t-shirt. There are other important factors to consider when making your choice. Like the fabric, fit, and overall feel of the shirt. Also, consider the style and the feel you're going for.
4. Create t-shirt designs
If you have design skills and time, you can do it yourself. If you have lots of ideas but need help to make them come to life, there are platforms that will connect you with talented designers.
Remember to always let your designer know how you’re planning to use the design, share the print file guidelines, file resolution and other do’s and don’ts, as well as your vision and inspiration for your designs.
5. Get your first t-shirt sale
The days where businesses could easily exist without social media are long gone. Your social media is not only for showing off your products and making promo campaigns. It can also serve as your second homepage and doesn’t require a financial investment.
Host a giveaway. Who wants free stuff? Everyone and anyone! Host a giveaway where you ask for people to like your social media page and share your post. This is one of the easiest and quickest ways to grow brand awareness.
