You gotta be high to think that Gohan hasn't worked for Beast. Yes, he's memed for taking long breaks from fighting, but he's been fighting on and off his whole life. He's ALWAYS had this potential that's basically mentioned in every arc he's ever involved in. Once he unlocked beast he trained it as mentioned in other comments, and he still hasn't mastered it which is clear from the way he almost lost himself.

Idk, I agree with Mastar Media that Goku ended the fight early because he knew Gohan couldn't win. If Goku thought that Gohan could push him to his limits, he would have absolutely taken that chance immediately. He's never allowed a good fight to pass him by, especially if he thought that fight would push his limits. He's handed out beans to villains explicitly because of this ideology.

Idk? Looks like Gohan has shown more of his power based on how he's panting after the attack that knocked Goku down. Goku has shown NO signs of exhaustion and immediately got back to UI with NO effort at all. Even in real street fights, boxing or MMA, there are instances of fighters recovering and overwhelming their opponents once they get clipped once.

People just clearly missed the second part of the fight where Goku started focusing on training Broly mid fight and pushed Gohan off with one hand

He did get knocked out of MUI, howeverrr, when he went back at it, he seemed to control the fight more. I used to think Beast was stronger Mui until Goku got another power upgrade but that doesn't seem to be the case. I think, it's more like Goku's an Angel candidate level, while Vegeta, Gohan, and Broly are God of Destruction candidates.

Just how I interpreted it. Beast is cool and all but I can't wait for what's next after MUI. I think the closest we can get to accurate is the Jiren vs goku fight, with Gohan replacing Jiren. Again, this is my head canon.

Imagine Gohan getting more training he had to raise is Ki just enough to not go out of control and was able to reach the speed of touching UI Goku and even knocked him out of it, that was crazy. You guys can keep arguing on who was stronger but you can’t deny Gohans potential for growth, even Goku sees it and is excited to see more in the future.
